Daniel Aguilar Liriano is a Costa Rica based Director of Photography working across documentary, narrative and commercial filmmaking.

He began filming at an early age, using a small handycam to document everyday life around him — moments with friends, school, family and the places that shaped his sense of memory and observation. That early connection to images continues to influence his work today.

Over the years, his work has developed through a strong interest in atmosphere, texture and emotionally grounded storytelling. Moving between fiction and documentary, he approaches cinematography with an observational sensibility, often working with natural light, immersive environments and a close attention to human presence within space.

His visual approach is driven by the idea of creating images that feel lived-in and emotionally honest, balancing cinematic composition with spontaneity and realism. Through landscape, movement and sensory detail, his work seeks to build a strong sense of place and emotional connection within each frame.
